About Messenger

Within DoctorAccess, Messenger allows you to control your communication with patients and other axiUm users. It notifies you when you have received an urgent or non-urgent message. The message alert icons display to the right of the menu bar: (urgent message) and (non-urgent message). A gray message alert icon shows the number of unread regular messages whereas a red e-mail alert icon shows the number of unread urgent messages.

Messages to patients are always encrypted. Messages to other users (providers, faculty, and administrators) may be encrypted depending on your dental institution.

In Messenger, there are three folders:

• contains your urgent messages.
• contains all your messages.
• contains all the messages you've sent.
